Looking at my last blog entry it's clear 2019 I was busy.
It was a funny sort of year, Long term plans race wise, A light overall mileage per week compared to normal. One bad ankle roll on the way to Woodmonster trail win. Strained left hamstring that tackled me to a walk in the last mile earlier in March at the Napa Half Marathon. The hammy tension came from way too much grip at the front of race shoe that gradually sent enough slam up the leg. I really wish Adidas etc would stop using hard grip like Continental, after all we are not bike tires we are feet attached to legs.
Anyway. By the end of the year I was full gusto and had greatly improved my trail running which became evident after creating my own mini grand slam at year end by running Mt Tam 50k followed by North Face 50k one week later.
Second 50k faster, felt terrific and both under six.
This gave me green light confidence for a 2020 VISION.
2020 VISION is all about getting fast fast back, debut 100k, sub 3 and more marathons and doing the base work for Western States 2021.
Check back here to see if I am still on the rails, so far so good.
