This race is a great way to get the year kick started. Grab data on base fitness and use it as a map line for marathon or road race prep.

Key goal sub 1.30 without too much drama. Road testing a new shoe so not keen to take too many risks.

Got some referral into the soleus muscles though post race which is not a good sign.
Trying to find a replacement for the beloved Adios 1.0 is proving hellish.
Anyway, ran 1.29 & change.
A mate tried to chat at the 3/4 point of the race but when you have asthma you can't race and chat. Hell no.
Good sign that the train is on track at start of year, now the real work begins.
